Angela Martinez

I am from the Dominican Republic. I was born and raised in Moca, located in the northern area of the country.

I hail from a family that values education and believes that schools should teach the essentials of mathematics, history, geography, and nature. Education is reinforced at home including values such as honesty, accountability, respect, loyalty, integrity and empathy for others. We pride ourselves to always be there to provide a helping hand to members of the community.

Having integrity and doing the best for myself, family and clients became the fabric of my life.

“No one can be a good professional unless they are also nice people” as my mother used to say.

When I was fourteen years old, I began work selling Avon products. My enthusiasm for business was sparked as a result of my early success.

I relocated to Santiago de Los Caballeros, where I studied marketing at the Technological University of Santiago. After four years, I graduated with a marketing bachelor's degree.

I've consistently been a proponent of personal development. Since I am aware of myself as my only competitor, I work  to improve myself every day. After receiving my bachelor's degree, I earned a master's in finance in less than three years.

Upon graduating, I worked in commercial marketing for banks in the Dominican Republic. Within this profession I advised home buyers/sellers and emphasized my client’s needs to close a deal under the best conditions.

I worked in my home country until May 2016 when my husband and children decided we would have greater opportunities in the United States.  We decided to move to Garfield, New Jersey, as a family and open a small business.

Professional growth requires honesty and transparency. My slogan will always be, “Do the right thing”. I work hard every day to develop myself personally and professionally. Everyone I meet inspires me to discover how I can help them.

I work with real estate clients to achieve their aspirations. I am here to assist in making their real estate dreams come true.  In every business deal, I make known my clients are my priority. I love my job and work hard to help others succeed together to create and exceed their expectations on every transaction.

When I arrived in Bergen County, I realized the language barrier temporarily prevented me from working in my professional field of finance and business.  To get my feet wet while we were living in Garfield, I went back to my backup plan and revisited my skillset and early passion as a Makeup Artist.

I knew that learning the English language was important for success.  I started looking for places to study. I began attending classes at the Bergen Community of Garfield in January 2017 for a total of six months. I've worked hard, and now I speak English fluently.

My passion has always been for business. In the midst of the pandemic, in March 2020, my husband Jose and I established a company selling perfumes online. It was so successful, we launched a brick and mortar store in 2021, and we have been selling perfumes ever since. Our business enabled me to increase sales and make my clients happy helping them discover their perfect scent!

I believed I could continue to grow professionally so I studied and became a Real Estate Salesperson. I realized that my academic and professional background would offer the necessary foundation for me to assist clients in making such major decisions as the purchase or sale of a home. By acquiring a REALTOR® license and a Notary Public license in the state of New Jersey, I can now continue to aid and support my community while also creating client happiness whether they are buying or selling a house.
